West Ham boss David Moyes provides concerning Ogbonna update & speaks on Jesse Lingard

West Ham boss David Moyes provides concerning Ogbonna update & speaks on Jesse Lingard

Wolves vs West Ham

West Ham face a trip to Wolves on Saturday at 3 pm UK time.

The Hammers head into the weekend’s action on a fine run of form, which has seen them win seven, draw two and lose two in the league this season.

West Ham’s latest victory saw them condemn Liverpool to a first defeat of the campaign in all competitions. As a result, David Moyes and co. are now just three points off top spot in the Premier League table.

So, West Ham are no doubt full of confidence heading into Saturday’s game, despite Wolves having looked much improved over recent weeks.

David Moyes on Ogbonna & Jesse Lingard

During his pre-Wolves press conference on Friday, meanwhile, David Moyes would provide an update on the fitness of Angelo Ogbonna, who suffered a knee injury during the win over Liverpool:

The Italian’s initial diagnosis evidently didn’t sound too encouraging and now, Moyes has confirmed that Ogbonna will be out for the rest of the season:

Elsewhere, the Irons boss was quizzed on Jesse Lingard, who enjoyed a prolific spell on loan at the London Stadium during the second half of last season, but has since struggled for minutes after returning to Manchester United:

“We really enjoyed having Jesse, he made a great contribution. We’ve kicked on again. Jesse is a Man United player and it’s for them to decide.”
