West Ham’s David Sullivan has revealed that the club are closing in on a manager that has a ‘proven record of success at the highest level of the game’.
The club are on the search for a new manager after David Moyes left the club this week.
The Scottish boss did not do enough to impress the West Ham bosses as they look to show their ambition with a top class manager.
Several have been linked, with Rafa Benitez and Manuel Pellegrini – both proven winners – looking the most likely at this stage.
David Sullivan explained in his statement on Thursday afternoon that the club will ‘leave no stone unturned’ while looking for their new manager.
Though, it sounded as though they had already found the man they wanted after confirming that an announcement will likely be made within 7 days.
“The Club expect to make an announcement within the next seven days, following a thorough and strategic process that has identified the best possible candidates,” he explained to the clubs official website.
“I would like to reassure our supporters that we have left no stone unturned in selecting the individual we believe is the right man to take West Ham United forward.
“We have followed a process that is progressing entirely to plan and are now very close to reaching an agreement.
“This is an exciting time for our football club. We are preparing to appoint a manager who has a proven record of success at the highest level of the game.”
