Wayne Rooney rejoins Everton

All eyes on Wayne Rooney as Everton name strong side for EL qualifier

Everton boss Ronald Koeman has named a strong starting line-up for his side’s matchup with Slovakian side Ružomberok this evening.

The Toffees are set to take on the Slovak Super Liga outfit from 20:05 at Goodison Park, in the first-leg of their Europa League Third qualifying round fixture.

And manager Ronald Koeman is leaving nothing to chance based on his starting XI for the matchup, with the Dutchman having previously spoken of the importance of a strong European run this season.

New signings Cuco Martina, Michael Keane and Davy Klaassen all get the nod from the start, along with experienced campaigners Leighton Baines and Kevin Mirallas.

However, the star attraction for fans of the Merseysiders tonight will no doubt be the inclusion of Wayne Rooney in the club’s starting line-up, with the English striker set for his first competitive appearance in an Everton jersey since 2004.
