Wayne Rooney vs Farhad Moshiri
The Sunday Times have an exclusive interview with Wayne Rooney this weekend.
Rooney is now enjoying his life playing for DC United in the MLS.
Last season Rooney scored 11 goals for Everton in the Premier League.
Of course, Rooney is England and Manchester United’s all-time record goalscorer.
So why did Rooney leave Everton to join DC United?
According to the attacker, Farhad Moshiri is the reason why he’s no longer at Goodison Park.
Rooney revealed the following to the Sunday Times:
I was disappointed how it ended. It was the owner’s decision. He [Farhad Moshiri] knew he was going to bring a lot of players in and I was still on quite a bit of money and he wanted to free money up. That’s his decision.
I went to see Sam [Allardyce, who by then was manager] and said, ‘Listen, I’m not a kid, what’s going on — do you want me or not?’ To be fair to Sam, he was honest. He said, ‘If I’m still here next season you mightn’t play as much but I still want you’. ‘Thanks for your honesty,’ I said.
But then he said, ‘I’m not sure the owner has the same opinion.’ And trying to get an honest answer out of the owner took three months. I kept trying. All I wanted was clarity. Even Marco Silva [hired to replace Allardyce] was surprised because he was told I was leaving — before I was told I could leave.
.@WayneRooney says Everton departure was not his decision.

How will Everton line up vs West Ham
Everton take on West Ham in the Premier League on Sunday.
There only seems to be one major selection issue which Marco Silva has to contend with before kick-off.
Richarlison will today complete his suspension following his red card against Bournemouth.
That’s left a spot open on the left-side on Everton’s midfield.
Silva appears to have two options. Either Dominic-Calvert Lewin will plug that hole, or Bernard could make his debut following his summer transfer.
Elsewhere, Lucas Digne is expected to keep Leighton Baines out the XI.
Yerry Mina has returned to training, yet the Colombian isn’t expected to start against West Ham.
