Watford vs West Ham betting tips: Premier League preview & prediction

Watford vs West Ham 101 Great Goals prediction: Watford 1-1 West Ham

While there’s nothing major to play for this weekend, both Watford and West Ham will look to finish the season with a win which could take them 9th.

Starting with Javi Gracia’s Watford, the Hornets have had a pretty solid season.

While they have had blips in form, a mid-table finish and an FA Cup final at the very least is nothing to scoff at.

Manuel Pellegrini’s West Ham don’t have the luxury of a cup final but will be looking to finish the campaign strongly.

With Leicester facing off against Chelsea in their last fixture, a win for either side here could see them finish as high as 9th.

Watford vs West Ham: Who will win?

Despite how close Watford and West Ham are on paper, there is a pretty decent favourite for this clash and it may be slightly surprising.

Even with an FA Cup final the following week, Watford go into the game as favourites for this clash.

Javi Gracia’s Hornets are priced at 6/5 to win the game outright.

That leaves West Ham as the outsiders.

Manuel Pellegrini’s Hammers are priced at 11/5 to win the game outright.

Meanwhile, a draw is priced at 5/2.

Considering the fact Watford may choose to rest some of their star players for the FA Cup final, it could be worth betting on a draw or West Ham win.

Both teams to score and a draw can be found at attractive odds of 3/1.

Both teams to score and a West Ham win is priced at 4/1 while BTTS and Watford is priced at 13/5.

There are also several solid options in the first goalscorer market.

Andre Gray is the favourite to score first, priced at 11/2.

Marko Arnautovic and Troy Deeney follow at 6/1.

An attractive option could be Felipe Anderson who is priced at 8/1 to score first.

Watford vs West Ham match preview

First of all, what a season it’s been in the main for Watford.

The acquisition of Javi Gracia has gone under the Premier League radar following Marco Silva’s sacking midway through last season.

In his first full season at Vicarage Road, Gracia has set his team up to be hard to beat while also displaying some quality attacking football.

As a result, Watford will finish the season in a very respectable position in the Premier League table as well as an FA Cup final.

Though, they will face off against West Ham before their attentions turn to Wembley.

The only worry going into this weekend is that Watford aren’t in the greatest form.

In fact, Watford have only won one of their last five games in the Premier League.

That win came against relegated Huddersfield Town.

Poor results against both Southampton and Wolves before a convincing 3-0 loss against Chelsea certainly isn’t an ideal end to the Premier League season.

Now, Watford will be looking to get back to winning ways just in time for their FA Cup final clash.

Can the Hammers finish their season with a bang?

While Watford’s form hasn’t been ideal, West Ham’s form has been somewhat of a mixed bag lately.

Much like the Hornets, the Hammers have had dips in form and periods of brilliance this campaign.

Right now, their form falls somewhere in-between.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side have won two, lost two and drawn one in their last five Premier League fixtures.

The losses have come against big six teams Manchester United and Chelsea in fairness to the Hammers.

Marko Arnautovic

Meanwhile, one of their wins came in an impressive 1-0 win at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

That was followed by a convincing 3-0 win over Southampton at the London Stadium.

While West Ham don’t have an FA Cup final to look forward to, there is no doubt Manuel Pellegrini and his side will be looking to finish the season on a high note.

Should they do that, a 9th place finish could be on the cards.

Watford team news vs West Ham

With an FA Cup final just six days later, there could be some players rested for the clash with West Ham.

In terms of injuries though, Domingos Quina will not play after dislocating his shoulder recently.

Etienne Capoue also recently suffered an injury but is set to return this weekend.

Miguel Britos should return to the fold after a wisdom tooth extraction.

West Ham team news vs Watford

It’s been the same old story for West Ham this season.

The Hammers have struggled with several long-term injuries to key players.

Andy Carroll, Andriy Yarmolenko and Winston Reid are three that have missed almost all of the current campaign.

None of those three are expected back this weekend either.

Felipe Anderson and Declan Rice have recently suffered due to illness but both could be available to face Watford.
