Watford vs Tottenham betting tips: Premier League match preview & predictions

Watford vs Tottenham 101 Great Goals prediction: Watford 1-2 Tottenham

Tottenham’s run of one win in their last four means they have dropped into 8th and nine points off the top four.

Despite a spirited performance in their 1-0 defeat to Liverpool, Jose Mourinho is under big pressure to win this clash.

But at Vicarage Road on the weekend, the Portuguese manager faces a tough task of stopping an in-form Watford side.

The Hornets have been galvanised under Nigel Pearson winning all of their last three league games.

Premier League preview: Watford vs Tottenham

Tottenham came away from their 1-0 defeat to Liverpool much encouraged by the team’s performance.

Spurs came close to taking a point off the runner away leaders but spurned a hatful of good chances.

But most of all, it was the performance of Premier League debutant Japhet Tanganga which should excite fans.

The 20-year-old, aside from Roberto Firmino’s winner, put in a very accomplished performance.

So much so, Mourinho gave him another opportunity during midweek in the FA Cup.

Playing out of position at right-back, Tanganga showed impressive ability and composure on the ball.

In Spurs’ 2-1 win over Middlesbrough, he was named man of the match and looks to have made himself a very strong option for Mourinho.

Mourinho has also been given another option in new signing Gerson Fernandes from Benfica.

The 21-year-old signed on an 18-month loan deal with an option to purchase and is expected to fill the void left by the injured Moussa Sissoko.

However, Spurs are yet to replace Harry Kane, the club’s only striker, who is out until at least April with a hamstring injury.

Watford move out of the bottom three

Following an awful start to the season, there is finally light at the end of the tunnel for Watford.

New manager Nigel Pearson has given them a much-needed boost in form and moved them out the relegation zone.

The Hornets have taken 13 points from their last six games – four more than what they took in their first 16 games.

On Sunday they impressively dismantled Bournemouth away winning 3-0 on the south coast.
