Watford vs Leicester betting tips: Premier League match preview & predictions

Watford vs Leicester prediction: Watford 1-1 Leicester

Brendan Rodgers will be looking to get his Leicester career off to a winning start. Leicester have as many points on the road as Arsenal this season and just one fewer than Wolves.

Watford have lost one of their last five matches at Vicarage Road, but will be low on confidence following their midweek hammering.

Sunday’s game is set to be a different prospect for the Hornets. Leicester have failed to win any of their last four matches on the road.

Watford vs Leicester: Who will win?

Watford are 31/20 favourites to win while Leicester are priced at 2/1. The draw can be backed at 23/10.

Watford have failed to score more than once in any of their last four at home. Back under 2.5 goals at 4/5.

Watford vs Leicester Premier League match preview

Watford host Leicester at Vicarage Road on Sunday.

The match will be Brendan Rodgers’ first in charge since joining the club from Celtic in the week.

Leicester picked up their first win in eight matches on Tuesday as caretaker manager Mike Stonewall took charge of the side against Brighton.

Demarai Gray opened the scoring early on at the King Power before Jamie Vardy doubled Leicester’s lead in the second half. Davy Propper pulled one back for the Seagulls soon after.

Leicester moved up to 11th in the table following their win. Victory on Sunday would move them to within two points of Watford.

Javi Gracia’s Watford side lost for the first time in five matches. After four consecutive clean sheets, the Hornets shipped five on Wednesday in a night to forget at Anfield.

Watford remain eighth following the defeat, level on 40 points with Wolves.

Watford and Leicester have met nine times in Premier League history. Leicester have won six times to Watford’s two.

The Foxes were 2-0 winners at the King Power Stadium in the reverse fixture in December. There were first-half goals from Jamie Vardy and James Maddison, while Etienne Capoue received a straight red card in the 90th minute.

There have been five penalties in matches between these two sides since 2015, more than any other Premier League fixture in that time period.

Watford team news vs Leicester

Watford have very few absentees heading into the weekend.

Javi Gracia named an unchanged side in midweek and could do so again against the Foxes.

Jose Holebas is available again, however, after completing his suspension.

Miguel Britos will need to be assessed. The defender missed out at Anfield through illness.

Kiko Femenia could return from a thigh injury and faces a late fitness test.

Tom Cleverley is in contention to face one of his former sides.

Leicester team news vs Watford

Like Watford, Leicester are about as injury-free as they could hope to be.

Jamie Vardy is set to lead the line in Rodgers’ first game in charge.

Marc Albrighton’s serious hamstring injury means he won’t be available until the end of the season.

Harvey Barnes should keep his place in the side as Albrighton’s replacement.

Daniel Amartey remains sidelined with a long-term injury.
