Watford should refund their fans after Man City hammering – Shearer

Man City put eight past Watford

Manchester City and Watford would go head-to-head on Saturday.

Watford were going in search of their first league win this season, while City were looking to bounce back from their defeat to Norwich.

It would be Manchester City who came out on top vs Watford, and they did so in spectacular fashion.

Pep Guardiola’s side would find themselves 5-0 up by the 18th minute.

Shearer on Watford vs Man City

The final score would eventually be Manchester City 8-Watford 0.

After the game, Alan Shearer give his thoughts on the clash.

Shearer would praise City’s display, but then tore into Watford for their lack of effort and desire.

The former striker would go on to state that Watford should refund their fans on the back of that performance:

“They were sensational from start to finish. If you’re going to give them time on the ball, they’re going to cause you problems.

“But, from a Watford point of view, lack of effort, no desire to do the hard work, no pressure on the ball whatsoever.

“You can’t defend how they did – it’s bad, amateurish. This is a Man City team that had five or six goals and still had this hunger to get the ball back and get more goals.

“It should’ve been 12 or 13. Sensational from Man City but Watford should refund their fans on the back of that performance.” As quoted by the Mirror.
