Watford 3 – Cardiff 2
Cardiff City almost staged a remarkable comeback at Watford on Saturday in the Premier League.
With Watford 3-goals up against Neil Warnock’s men, the Bluebirds started singing in the final 10 minutes.
Junior Hoilett got Cardiff on the board in the 80th minute. While Bobby Reid stabbed home a second to set up a nervy finale to the match at Vicarage Road.
Watford had earlier been cruising in the contest.
Gerard Deulofeu cut Cardiff’s defence open to score a memorable opener.
Jose Holebas scored a superb second in the 52nd, before Quina made it 3-0 in the 68th.
First Everton, now Cardiff
Last Monday night, Watford were held to a 2-2 draw at Everton.
Everton snatched a point thanks to a 96th minute free-kick from Lucas Digne.
At Goodison Park, Richarlison fired Everton ahead after good work by Andre Gomes.
However Watford were hard-done-by, as Theo Walcott was offside in the build-up to the goal.
The linesman missed the incident.
Do we blame the lack of VAR when the decisions are this easy? pic.twitter.com/35nxTTJ4uF

Against Cardiff, Watford were again wronged by a poor call from the linesman.
Cardiff’s second goal should never have stood, after two Cardiff players were caught offside in the build-up.
Both Reid and Sol Bamba were clearly stood in offside positions following a flick on in the area. They weren’t even close to being onside.
Reid, of course, went on to score.
How do the officials keep getting these calls wrong against the Hornets?
Out of interest, how far offside do you need to be before it counts?
