Watch: Watford’s Ismaila Sarr nets early Goal of the Season contender from inside own half

The Senegalese international was responsible for a moment of magic

Footage stemming from Watford’s meeting with West Bromwich Albion on Monday has piqued widespread attentions online.

This comes owing to an early Goal of the Season contender netted by the Hornets’ Ismaila Sarr.

Rob Edwards’ men are currently locked in action at The Hawthorns, in the club’s 2nd outing of the Championship campaign.

As things stand in the West Midlands, the two sides are locked at a goal apiece, owing to Karlan Grant’s equaliser on the stroke of the interval.

As alluded to above, though, it is the evening’s opener which has firmly stolen the headlines to this point in the action at the Hawthorns.

This comes after Ismaila Sarr produced a moment of genuine magic, to put Watford in front inside a quarter of an hour.

After picking the ball up with his back to goal just inside his own half, wide-man Sarr quickly spun towards the centre circle.

Lifting his head to see David Button well off his line, the Senegalese, in turn, unleashed a sumptuous lofted effort which evaded the West Brom shot-stopper, before nestling in the bottom corner of the net.
