Set to leave the San Siro soon?
Mauro Icardi’s wife and representative, Wanda Nara, has given Chelsea and Real Madrid a huge boost in their reported pursuit of the Argentine striker.
The forward continues to impress at the San Siro with Inter Milan and is seen to be one of the top-tier strikers in Europe.
He has scored 109 goals in 175 appearances following his move to Inter from Barcelona in 2013.
Though, despite being the captain of his club, he could be set to leave them empty-handed in regards to his future plans.
That is because he could be set to leave the club for free in 2021 if he does not leave before then.
New contract rejected as Chelsea & Real Madrid lurk in shadows
According to TyC Sports, Icardi’s partner and agent Wanda Nara has informed Inter the player will not be signing a new contract.
His current deal will expire in 2021 and that leaves Inter in a very difficult spot.
Wanda also confirmed today that there is interest from Spain, France and England.
Should they keep hold of their star man in the summer, they could lose him for free down the line.
However, with Chelsea and Real Madrid interested in his services according to the same report, they could look to sell soon.
That could even mean a move in the summer could even be considered likely.
While this could simply be a bluff, it remains to be seen whether Inter will call it and stand firm.
Regardless, this remains a big boost for both Chelsea and Real Madrid and other clubs interested.
