Southampton are reportedly determined to keep hold of star defender Virgil van Dijk and will try to reintegrate him into the squad next week
This comes after Van Dijk refused to play any part in the clubs previous pre-season games and was training on his own.
The Dutch defender had been looking to force through a move to Liverpool but his refusal to train with the group has not had the desired effect.
Instead, the club remain heavily interested in keeping him at the club and are looking to bring him back to training with the squad next week.
This could well end all interest from Liverpool in the player even after the previously declared they would not pursue him any longer.
This came after suggestions of tapping up from the Anfield side but that did not stop them from continuing to unsettle the player.
Now, it looks like neither Van Dijk or Liverpool will get their wish this summer.
My life now basically involves me refreshing twitter every 30 seconds for any updates on Keita, Van Dijk and Coutinho.

Liverpool lose out on another target
Not only are the Reds set to miss out on Van Dijk, they are set to miss out on another target.
This target is possibly even more important than Van Dijk is with the pursuit even longer.
