Southampton vs Liverpool
The Premier League restarts on Friday night at St Mary’s as Southampton take on Liverpool.
This is a massive match at both ends of the table.
Liverpool beat Tottenham 2-1 last weekend, but Man City have since taken top spot following a 2-0 win over Cardiff.
Southampton are still in the relegation mire. Although successive wins over Tottenham and Brighton have lifted the Saints five points clear of the drop zone.
Virgil Van Dijk injury report
Virgil Van Dijk sustained a knock in the latter stages of the Tottenham match last weekend.
Jurgen Klopp was asked about the Dutch centre-half.
In good news for the Reds, Klopp confirmed that Van DIjk is fit to play against his former employers:
Yes, it looks quite good. No major concerns, actually, so we have to see until the matchday obviously but after the [Spurs] game you’re probably thinking about Virg. He trained normal, everything OK,” Klopp said, during his pre-match press conference.
Yesterday [Tuesday] we only had a second recovery session but he was involved in that and I heard nothing different that he could maybe not train today. No, it looks all OK.
Klopp on Van Dijk: "“For a centre-half he’s still young, there’s still a lot to come" 💪🏼 🇳🇱

Liverpool’s injury problems have dried up in recent weeks.
Fans are looking forward to the returns of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Joe Gomez to the first team.
Both players are back in first team training after long term injuries.
