Reds prodigy

17-year-old Elliott has of course long been viewed as one of English football’s standout talents.

The 2018/19 campaign, for example, saw the wide-man become the youngest player to ever feature in the Premier League.

On the back of his move to Liverpool the following summer, however, Elliott unsurprisingly struggled for senior game-time, amid a battle for minutes with the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

As such, it came as little surprise to see the prodigious teen farmed out on loan back in October, to get his development back on track.

Elliott made the move to the Championship, with Blackburn Rovers.

And to say that the wide-man has since gone on to impress would be putting it lightly.

Despite his tender years, Elliott has not looked at all out of place amongst the talent in England’s 2nd-tier, with recent weeks having seen the Liverpool loanee go on to establish himself as a key cog in Tony Mowbray’s side.

In fact, across his last 11 appearances before today, Elliott had managed to directly contribute to a hugely impressive 7 goals.

And, as outlined above, this afternoon, the teenage attacker’s dazzling exploits only continued.

Blackburn made the trip to the Riverside Stadium a short time ago, for their latest league outing.

Rovers headed into proceedings in search of a bounce-back result, having managed just a solitary win from their last 6 across all competitions.

And, when all was said and done, bounce back is precisely what the visitors managed.

Upon the full-time whistle sounding in north Yorkshire, a solitary goal separated the sides, to guide Blackburn up to 9th in the Championship table.

The game’s telling moment came just past the hour mark, when that man Elliott was slipped in behind the Middlesbrough backline, before showcasing both his vision and poise, with a perfect cut-back for Joe Rothwell’s finish:

On the back of his latest telling contribution, meanwhile, Elliott’s remarkable stats, when taking into account his age, have since begun to turn heads online, with the Liverpool loanee having now managed 4 goals and 8 assists across 20 Championship appearances to this point in the campaign:
