Video: Sergio Aguero on commentary as Man City-bound Julian Alvarez bags hat-trick

Footage of club legend Sergio Aguero watching on as Manchester City-bound Julian Alvarez bagged a hat-trick for River Plate has come to the fore online.

The video in question comes on the back of River's Primera Division showdown with Patronato in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The capital giants eventually emerged on the right side of a dominant 4-1 scoreline, with star attacker Alvarez, unsurprisingly, having proven the star of the show.

After his side fell a goal behind inside six minutes, Alvarez levelled things up a short time later, nodding home at the back post.

And one individual who certainly appeared to enjoy the latest goalscoring exploits put forth by the Argentine sensation was fellow countryman Sergio Aguero, the man whom many have tipped Alvarez to act as the long-term heir to at Manchester City:

River's starring young hitman then added his 2nd of the night in spectacular fashion just beyond the half-hour mark, lashing home at the near post in instinctive fashion from the tightest of angles:

And Alvarez rounded out a memorable evening's work early in the 2nd-half, picking out the far corner in style to clinch his hat-trick, and send River firmly on their way to a 4-1 rout:

Etihad bound

Such footage will no doubt prove particularly exciting for those of a Manchester City persuasion.

This comes with a deal between the Premier League champions and their counterparts at River Plate for Alvarez having been made official on transfer deadline day late last month.

The 22-year-old is set to remain on loan at El Monumental until the summer at the earliest, at which point he will link up with Pep Guardiola's first-team squad in Manchester, hopeful of following in the footsteps of the aforementioned Sergio Aguero:
