Video & fan reaction: Leeds’ Crysencio Summerville nets solo worldie in U23s clash with Sunderland

Footage of Leeds United talent Crysencio Summerville finding the net in spectacular fashion for the club’s U23 outfit has begun turning heads online this evening.

Kachosa decides it

With Marcelo Bielsa’s first-team squad of course not in action this weekend amid the international break, focus in West Yorkshire today turned towards the club’s up-and-coming crop of young talent.

This comes with the Whites’ U23s having taken to the pitch for a Premier League Cup showdown with Sunderland.

Leeds headed into proceedings eyeing something of a bounce-back result, after managing just a solitary victory in the club’s last five outings across all competitions.

When all was said and done at the Stadium of Light, though, ultimately, Mark Jackson’s men succumbed to yet another tightly-contested defeat.

Sunderland took the lead on the day through Cameron Jessup’s volley, before Ethan Kachosa made sure of all thee points for the Black Cats with a 2nd early in the 2nd-half.

A Summerville stunner

But, as outlined above, on an otherwise disappointing afternoon for Leeds, there was one reason for the club’s supporters to get excited.

This came in the form of a wonderful individual goal netted by youngster Crysencio Summerville.

After taking the ball in with his back to goal deep in the Sunderland half, the 19-year-old spun, showed impressive strength in surging beyond one defender, before meeting two more in the hosts’ area, only to pick out the far top corner courtesy of a sweet left-footed strike:

And the Peacocks faithful, in turn, have since made their excitement regarding Summerville’s talents crystal clear, with just some of the social media highlights showcased below:
