Victor Lindelof on life at Manchester United
Swedish central defender Victor Lindelof signed for Manchester United this past summer to a fair amount of fanfare.
Lindelof was heavily linked with Manchester United during two previous transfer windows before he did eventually sign for the Red Devils.
The former Benfica defender was expected to come in and play regularly for Manchester United but it hasn’t panned out that way.
Phil Jones and Eric Bailly appear to be the first choice Manchester United central defence.
Lindelof has played in the Champions League but is yet to play a single minute of Premier League football.
Lindelof talks to the Swedish press
Sweden face two World Cup qualifying matches this week, against Luxembourg and Holland.
During his time in Sweden, Lindelof has spoken to the media about how he is coping with life at Manchester United.
He was asked whether he takes much notice of the British media.
To which Lindelof replied: “Why would I read them [British media]?.
I do not care what they are writing.
I do not even know what they are writing.
I feel no stress.
I’m in one of the world’s best clubs, it’s clear that it’s tough competition.
But it may have the time it takes”.
Lindelof on Jose Mourinho
The Manchester United defender was also asked if he has spoken to Jose Mourinho about not being first choice.
Lindelof: “It’s between me and him. But we talk and have a good dialogue.”
Reading between the lines, Lindelof appears to be somewhat impatient with his lack of playing time in the Premier League.
It will be fascinating to see if he takes his chance when he does play.
