Vicente Guaita’s Premier League debut vs Leicester
One of the big surprises for Crystal Palace on Saturday was their goalie: Vicente Guaita.
The former Getafe goalie, 31, signed for the Eagles in the summer.
However Wayne Hennessey has established himself as the number one for Roy Hodgson.
Hennessey was forced to miss Saturday’s 1-0 win over Leicester through injury, and Vicente Guaita grabbed his opportunity to shine of his Premier League debut.

Vicente Guaita vs Jamie Vardy
The Crystal Palace keeper had a running battle with Jamie Vardy throughout the game.
With the Foxes 1-down in the 78th minute, Vardy should have levelled.
Kelechi Iheanacho fed a perfect pass through to Vardy to hand the England striker a clear shot on goal.
The ball fell to Vardy in the precise place to drill home a low shot into the far corner.
However Guaita had other ideas.
The stopper got down low to his right hand side, he got a solid part of his glove on ball, and the ball cannoned off the inside of the post and back into Guaita’s arms.
‘Better than Alisson’s save for Liverpool’
One of the big talking points as Liverpool progressed through to the Champions League knockout phase was a brilliant late stop by Alisson against Napoli.
Liverpool beat Napoli 1-0. Mo Salah scored a superb solo goal.
Alisson blocked Arkadiusz Milik’s last-minute effort to secure Liverpool’s passage out the group.
Yet according to Robbie Savage on BT Sport, while Alisson’s save was more important, Guaita’s was the better save.
‘Alisson’s save was more important but Guaita’s is better!’ 💪
