As supporters of Scottish giants Rangers continue to make their feelings with departed boss Steven Gerrard crystal clear, updated odds on those most likely to replace him in the Ibrox dugout have been forthcoming online.
The news which shook the very foundations of Rangers was of course forthcoming earlier on Thursday.
On the back of a stellar spell at the helm of the club, which saw him return the Gers to the very top of Scottish football, Steven Gerrard opted to call time on his stint in Glasgow.
The Liverpool icon has instead secured a first-ever managerial role in the Premier League, replacing Dean Smith at Aston Villa:

Safe to say, news of Gerrard’s exit has since gone down about as well as a lead balloon with the Rangers faithful, many of whom have evidently been left feeling betrayed by a man who so recently appeared keen to reiterate his happiness at the club.
In turn, taking to the comments section of the Gers’ official announcement on the matter, supporters of the Scottish champions have taken aim at their now former boss in ruthless fashion, as showcased below:
Bottled it. Absolute charlatan. Goes with no best wishes from me.
We move on ⚪️

Absolute snake. Hope you get them relegated. Absolutely no well wishes from me doing that at this point in the season.

“Not going anywhere” as he goes to a 16th placed prem team ♂️

Zero respect for him. Leaving us in this situation and likely to decimate our squad even further by coming in for our key players. You have a mammoth task to replace him and it has to be someone special. We lose out on the league, it’ll not only be on him it’ll be on the board.

van Bronckhorst incoming?
Turning attentions towards just who could be set to replace Gerrard at Ibrox, meanwhile, updated odds on the favourites to take up the Gers’ reigns have, on Thursday evening, been provided online.
As per OddsBible, as things stand, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who lined out in the famous blue as a player from 1998 to 2001, is the current clear-cut front-runner at odds of 1/2.
Next up comes John Terry at 6/1, the man whom Gerrard has replaced, Dean Smith at 20/1, and the likes of Gennaro Gattuso, Wayne Rooney and Steve Bruce:
