Usain Bolt loses Arsenal vs Manchester United bet

Rubbing salt into the wounds

The Arsenal result would have been hard to stomach for a Manchester United fan like Usain Bolt but things got worse following the game.

Manchester United travelled to the Emirates last Sunday in the hope of continuing their stunning form across all competitions.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær has been a revelation and has transformed their faltering side under Jose Mourinho into real contenders both in Europe and in the Premier League.

With that, it was expected to be much of the same at the Emirates.

Arsenal had just come off the back of an embarrassing 3-1 defeat to Rennes in the Europa League and have had very much a stop-start season.

However, Arsenal turned on the style and deservedly beat Manchester United 2-0.

Granit Xhaka’s long-range effort deceived David De Gea to give the Gunners their lead before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sealed all three points from the penalty spot.

Bolt dons Arsenal shirt

That’s not where the pain ended for legendary sprinter Usain Bolt, however.

That is because judging by a video on social media, Bolt lost a bet over the game.

A video emerged on Wednesday showing huge Manchester United fan Bolt stood in an Arsenal shirt.

He explains that he must say ‘Arsenal is the best’ and kiss the Gunners’ crest before wishing them all the best for the season.

It’s not said who the bet was made with and what would have happened if Man United won, but that doesn’t make it any less painful for Bolt!

Though, the sprinter will no doubt be hoping to get the last laugh if Man United can beat Arsenal to a Champions League spot.
