Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti has this evening provided a fitness update on his squad, ahead of the club’s meeting with Watford.
Watford vs Everton
The Toffees are set to return to Premier League action this weekend, with a trip to Vicarage Road.
Everton will head into proceedings on the back of a 10-day break, having not been part of the FA Cup 4th-round fixtures last weekend.
This will of course have given the Merseysiders plenty of time to mull over their baffling latest result.
A meeting with Newcastle United at Goodison Park last Tuesday saw the hosts carry a 2-goal lead into injury-time, courtesy of strikes from Moise Kean and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Incredibly, however, a brace within the space of two minutes from Magpies defender Florian Lejeune saw Steve Bruce’s men nab the unlikeliest of points, leaving a stunned Everton to pick up the pieces.
As such, ahead of what he will no doubt be hoping is set to act as a bounce-back game for his side, Carlo Ancelotti this evening provided a pre-Watford update on his squad.
And, in a boost for all associated with the Toffees, the news was largely positive.
Crucially, star attacker Richarlison looks set to return to action at Vicarage Road:
‘Richarlison is okay and has trained all week.’
‘This week we had only Gbamin out, the others are all fit and in good condition.’
And, in further good news for the Merseyside outfit, both Alex Iwobi and Gylfi Sigurdsson are also back in contention to feature on Saturday:
‘Richarlison and Iwobi are available [to face Watford].’
‘Gylfi Sigurdsson is available.’
‘So it will be difficult to choose my line-up.’
