Philippe Coutinho, Willian & Brazil
According to the word coming out of South America, it’s a case of ‘in’ from Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho and ‘out’ for Chelsea’s Willian in the Brazilian national team.
Globoesporte are reporting that Liverpool’s playmaker is expected to come into Tite’s first team squad when they take on Bolivia in a World Cup qualifier.
Coutinho should start in the Brazil XI, while Willian is set to drop to the bench.
In truth, Coutinho has been tipped to replace Willian in the side for a while.
In the last international break, Brazil beat Ecuador 3-0 on home turf, before following that up with a 2-1 win over Colombia.
On both occasions, Willian was replaced by Coutinho, and on both occasions the change was pivotal to the outcome of the match.
Against Ecuador, the ineffective Willian made way for Coutinho with the scores at 0-0, and the Liverpool playmaker looked bright as the Seleccao went on to win.
Against Colombia, Brazil were tied 1-1 when Coutinho entered the fray, and he set up Neymar for the winner.
The Brazil XI
Thiago Silva will likely start on the bench for Brazil against Bolivia.
Man City’s Gabriel Jesus is expected to lead the attack.
