Update: When Man United and Arsenal target will join Tottenham

Numerous reports have today surfaced claiming that Tottenham Hotspur are close to completing the signing of Brazilian winger Malcom from Bordeaux.

The player looked set to join either Arsenal or Manchester United this month, however, Spurs have now stolen a march on the competition becoming favourites to land the player.

The Telegraph claim that Tottenham are set to reach an agreement with the French club this month ahead of the player joining the club in the summer.

Summer deal

Bordeaux are reluctant to lose their Brazilian star this month as they battle for survival in Ligue 1.

Instead, they are willing to negotiate a deal now for the player and sell him in the summer coming.

Tottenham are understood to have made an offer worth £35m plus an extra £9m in add-ons for Malcom, a fee Bordeaux are pleased with.

The north Londoners are now expected to finalise an agreement with the Ligue 1 side and see the player link up with them in the summer.

Poch’s persuasion

Mauricio Pochettino is said to have met with Malcom, a player of whom he is a huge fan, convincing him to chose Tottenham.

The player is now totally thrilled by the prospect of joining Tottenham having been so impressed by the manager’s vision and plans for the future.

Jamie Brown: Tottenham Hotspur are doing some excellent business here by ensuring they secure one of Europe’s hottest, young prospects.

Interest from Manchester United and Arsenal tells you all you need to know about how Malcom is seen around the continent.

With a £35m fee being reported, this deal is made to look even more of a steal for Spurs given the current climate of the transfer window.

The Brazilian will add to Tottenham’s squad exactly the type of qualities they have been craving, with pace and skill just some of the attributes Malcom will bring to Spurs.
