Man United’s Alexis Sanchez got lucky against Huddersfield

Alexis Sanchez scored his first Man United goal

Three games, and Alexis Sanchez is off the mark for Manchester United.

The former Arsenal forward found the target aginast Huddersfield at Old Trafford on Saturday.

It was Alexis Sanchez’s first match at the Theatre of Dreams since his January transfer.

The goal came about after Sanchez was taken out in the Huddersfield box by Michael Hefele. The ref instantly pointed to the spot.

But Alexis got lucky with what happened next. The Chilean’s spot kick was saved by Huddersfield goalie Jonas Lossl.

But Lossl was unable to push the ball away, which allowed Sanchez to convert the rebound and fire Man United 2-0 up.

Huddersfield kept Man United at bay in the first half on Saturday.

But early in the second period the Red Devils took the lead through 75 million pound man Romelu Lukaku.

Lukaku was in the right place at the near post to volley home from a left wing Juan Mata cross.

It was Lukaku’s 12th goal of the Premier League season.

‘Alexis Sanchez, Atom & Humber’ banner at Old Trafford

A huge banner appeared in Old Trafford against Huddersfield featuring a picture of Alexis Sanchez with his dogs.

The banner read: Welcome to Manchester: Alexis, Atom & Humber.

It was obviously an instant hit on social media.

However the banner was only on show for a few minutes before Stewards took it down.
