When the Champions League draw was made, the chances of an all-English tie was more remote than it had previously been thought, with Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur all crashing out, but with country protection gone, there was always the chance that Liverpool could draw Manchester City – and fate decided that was going to happen.
The two sides with the best attacking players in the Premier League, and possibly even Europe are now set to go head to head, and while many people think Manchester City are the favourites given their amazing league form this season, there are also those who think Liverpool are the favourites – or at least in with a massive shot after the last meeting between the pair, where Liverpool had Manchester City on the ropes for large parts of the game.
Given how vital away goals are, it looks set to be a thriller, though it may be a far more cagey affair than a Premier League encounter.

Liverpool have nothing to be scared of. City are a fabulous team but we can beat them. We know them. Bring it on. #UCLDraw

Liverpool can beat Man City over two legs but facing a fellow English side in the Champions League is so uninspiring. Ah well.

Have to think City will be happier with that draw than Liverpool.

It was meant to be. Liverpool vs Man City for the Champions League quarter-final. They beat us 5-0 with a red card and we beat them 4-3. This will settle it all. #UCLDraw
