Gabor Kiraly trends on Twitter
Hungary faced Austria today in their opening match of Euro 2016 and former Crystal Palace keeper Gabor Kiraly was the main talking point on social media.
The 40-year-old Hungarian stopper broke Lothar Matthaus’s long-standing record as the oldest player to feature in a European Championship.
Kiraly was wearing his trademark grey tracksuit bottoms, which make him look like anything but a professional goalkeeper.
Interestingly, the former Premier League keeper made his international debut 18 years ago against Austria but today is his first ever game in a major tournament.
Despite his advanced age, he made some fine saves (which resulted in muddy trouser bottoms) in a first half which ended 0-0.
German legend Lothar Matthaus congratulated the veteran goalkeeper on his new record on Twitter. See some of the best tweets on Gabor Kiraly below.

96 – Gabor Kiraly's tracksuit bottoms are older than 96% of the other players at Euro 2016. Fashionable.

I've got a lot of time for Gabor Kiraly's sweatpants. He looks like he's just had an epic Jeremy Kyle marathon.
