Tunisia vs Nigeria live streaming: Match preview

The dreaded third place play-off.

After semi-final heartbreak for both on Sunday, these two must go again in Cairo.

Up first on Sunday, Tunisia took on Senegal.

In a game of few chances, Tunisia were awarded a penalty late on when Ferjani Sassi’s shot was handled by Kalidou Koulibaly.

Sassi stepped up himself but his incredibly tame effort was easily saved.

Then, just two minutes later, Senegal had a penalty of their own after a foul by Dylan Bronn.

The Eagles needed a hero and they got one; Mouez Hassen making a brilliant save.

The game finished 0-0 and went to extra time.

Ten minutes into the addition period, Hassen flapped at a free-kick which deflected in off Bronn.

1-0 Senegal.

Then, in the 118th minute, Tunisia were awarded another penalty for a hand-ball against Idrissa Gana Gueye.

But, after a very long VAR review, the decision was reversed; no penalty.

The match finished 1-0 and Alain Giresse’s side were left heartbroken.

Nigeria too were on the wrong end of some last gasp drama in their semi-final on Sunday night.

The Super Eagles found themselves a goal down on the stroke of half time through a very unfortunate own goal by William Troost-Ekong.

However, with 18 minutes to go, Peter Etebo’s shot appeared to strike and arm and, after VAR review, penalty was awarded.

Odion Ighalo stepped up and confidently stroked home and equaliser.

The Shànghǎi Shēnhuā striker is now the top scorer at these finals with four.

But, in the 95th minute, Algeria had a free-kick.

Riyad Mahrez curled home an astonishing winner with the very last kick of the game.

Extasy for Algeria; agony for Nigeria.

2-1 it finished at the Cairo International Stadium so Nigeria must face this third place play-off.

Who will claim bronze in the match no one wants to partake in?
