Cristiano Ronaldo Portugal World Cup

Trolling Leo Messi? Cristiano Ronaldo reveals why he has a goatee

Cristiano Ronaldo 4 – Leo Messi 0

So far at this summer’s World Cup, Cristiano Ronaldo has four goals while Leo Messi is yet to find the target.

Argentina drew their opener against Iceland. Messi saw a second half spot-kick saved.

Argentina return to action today when they take on Croatia.

Portugal have four points on the board after two matches. Ronaldo followed up his hat-trick in the 3-3 draw with Spain with the winner against Morocco.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s new look

Prior to the World Cup, Leo Messi starred in a photoshoot for Paper magazine.

Messi was pictured holding a goat in the shoot.

The message was clear: Messi is the greatest of all time.

But Ronaldo has seemingly taken issue with that narrative in Russia. Against Spain he pulled off a ‘goat’ celebration, while against Morocco the Real Madrid star stepped sporting a goatee.

Will he wear a pair of horns for the Iran game?

After the Morocco game Ronaldo was asked about his new facial hair. The Portugal star explained his new look:

It was a joke I made with (Portugal teammate Ricardo) Quaresma.

We were in the sauna, and I started to shave. I left my beard and said if I score tomorrow, which was against Spain, I’d leave it for the rest of the tournament.

And it gave me luck, I scored in that game, I scored today and I’m going to keep it.

Georgina Rodriguez

Off the pitch, many people were drawn to Georgina Rodriguez’s hand during the Portugal-Morocco game.

A fresh round of engagement rumours are now doing the rounds.
