Bad injury news for five Swansea players ahead of Burnley clash

Bad news

Swansea have been dealt five injury blows ahead of their clash with Burnley this weekend with all five of their players set to miss out.

The club have finally found some form under manager Carlos Carvalhal who has turned around their fortunes this season.

The Swans won their last game against Notts County 8-1 having already drawn with Leicester City the game before.

The side also have wins over Liverpool and Arsenal over the past month and are showing no signs of stopping.

Though, that form could be set to be derailed somewhat with three of their first team players set for time out with injury.

Five injuries

Boss Carvalhal confirmed the injury blows in his press conference this week, including problems with Renato Sanches, Leon Britton and Angel Rangel.

The first of those players, Sanches, is set to be out for around a month with a hamstring problem.

Britton is said to be receiving an injection soon for a groin injury and will supposedly be back with the squad soon.

Though, the biggest bad news comes to full-back Angel Rangel.

Carvalhal revealed today that the Spaniard could need surgery on a groin injury which could keep him out in the long-term.

There are no suggestions as to how long the player could be out but it is certain it would be a decent period of time.

Not only that, the boss revealed that Leroy Fer will have surgery on his ruptured achilles today and Wilfred Bony will have surgery on his ACL next week.

This will certainly not help the club ahead of their game with Burnley but they will hope all players can return soon to secure Premier League safety.
