Mohamed Salah’s only goal of the game was enough for Liverpool to beat Napoli and book their place in the Champions League knockout phase.
While PSG won the group, Liverpool edged out Napoli to second place.
The Italians have dropped into the Europa League, while Red Star Belgrade finished bottom of the group.
Trent Alexander-Arnold injury
In the final minute of the game, Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold was subbed out the match.
Dejan Lovren replaced Alexander-Arnold after the England international received medical treatment.
Alexander-Arnold went off with an ankle injury.
After the match Jurgen Klopp discussed Alexander-Arnold’s injury.
The Liverpool boss told the press:
Trent got a knock on his foot, we are not sure about what exactly it is. It is painful.
Will TAA be ruled out of Liverpool’s match with Man United this weekend.
Will James Milner be fit for Man United?
Another player Liverpool fans will be sweating over before the Man United game is James Milner.
Fabinho replaced Milner in the 85th minute after the midfielder also picked up a knock.
James Milner finished with Napoli match with a bout of cramp.
On Milner’s injury, Klopp reported the following:
Millie [Milner] had cramps – I hope it was only cramp. That was it, I don’t know anything else.
Joel Matip went to hospital
Liverpool centre-half Joel Matip also picked up a shoulder injury in the Napoli match.
Matip, however, was able to complete the 90 minutes of the Champions League tie.
After the match, Matip was taken to hospital to check on his shoulder.
