Zinedine Zidane quizzed on Mohamed Salah to Real Madrid rumours

Zinedine Zidane quizzed on Mohamed Salah to Real Madrid rumours

Real Madrid vs Liverpool

One of the marquee ties of the upcoming round of Champions League fixtures will see Real Madrid and Liverpool face off.

The opening meeting on April 6th will mark the first time the clubs have gone head to head since their historic 2018 final clash, which Madrid eventually won 3-1 thanks to some Gareth Bale heroics, after Sergio Ramos injured Mohamed Salah early in the game.

Ahead of the first-leg, neither outfit has enjoyed a great season to date, though Liverpool’s campaign has been substantially worse.

Despite their often dire league form, though, the Reds have looked solid in Europe, dominating a high-flying RB Leipzig side over two legs in the Round-of-16. Jurgen Klopp’s men have also now won their last two league outings.

Zidane on Salah

Ahead of the upcoming tie, meanwhile, Zinedine Zidane has been quizzed on Liverpool and Egypt star, Mohamed Salah.

Salah has of course been one of the Premier League’s top talents for several years now.

However, comments on the part of the player continue to result in speculation over his future on Merseyside.

Just last week, Salah stated that he would be open to playing in Spain. And back in December, the winger refused to rule out a future move to one of Barcelona or Real Madrid, both of whom he has been linked with by the press.

In turn, as mentioned above, Zidane was today drawn on the possibility of Real signing Salah. The Frenchman, however, gave very little away:

“He isn’t my player.

“I have 25 players here, at the moment I’m a Real Madrid coach and I enjoy every day of the moment.”
