Wolves’ next signing? Valencia boss Gattuso confirms Guedes is Premier League-bound

A ‘huge proposal’ for the attacker was tabled this weekend

Valencia star Goncalo Guedes is primed for a move to England, it has been confirmed.

The Portuguese international was expected to play a pivotal role at the Mestalla once more this coming season, after rattling off 11 goals and six assists across 36 La Liga appearances in 2021/22.

Speaking to the media late on Saturday night, however, boss Gennaro Gattuso instead revealed that Guedes is all set to move on.

This comes after what is described as a ‘huge proposal’ was forthcoming, courtesy of an unnamed Premier League club.

Further insight into the situation, meanwhile, has since too been provided.

According to a number of Portuguese sources, the offer in question was tabled by none other than Wolverhampton Wanderers, with Guedes, in turn, ready to take his talents to Molineux.

Should such claims prove to be accurate, the 25-year-old will join an ever-extending list of Portuguese stars plying their trade with Wolves, all overseen by fellow countryman Bruno Lage.

Newcastle United are also understood to have expressed a keen interest in Guedes’ services of late, but, evidently, it would appear that the Magpies have been beaten to the punch by their Premier League rivals.
