Wolves boss Lage speaks out over Adama Traore’s future amid mounting Tottenham links
Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Bruno Lage has, on Friday, provided an update on the future of transfer-linked winger Adama Traore.
The name of wide-man Traore has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines across the January transfer window to date.
This comes after Antonio Conte and Tottenham set their sights firmly on a deal for the Spaniard, on the back of the questionable start to life in north London being endured by summer addition Emerson Royal.
In turn, it did not come as a huge surprise to hear that the Lilywhites, on Thursday, had tabled an opening bid for the club’s primary winter target.
Unfortunately for those in a position of power at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, however, the proposal – worth a fee in the region of £15 million – was ultimately rebuffed.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of his side’s Premier League showdown with Brentford this weekend, it therefore came as little surprise when Bruno Lage was today drawn on the subject of Traore’s future.
The Wolves boss, though, was keen to keep his cards close to his chest, albeit whilst admitting that the explosive attacker remains a part of his setup ‘for now’:

Derby clash
Turning attentions back towards the pitch, Tottenham are primed to return to action this coming Sunday, in a crunch showdown with capital rivals Chelsea.
After putting Leicester City to the sword in the most dramatic fashion imaginable during the week, Conte and co. will no doubt be brimming with confidence ahead of making the trip to Stamford Bridge.
An away win in west London would see Spurs climb to within just five points of Thomas Tuchel’s faltering Chelsea in the Premier League table, despite boasting a whopping four games in hand.
A potentially season-defining clash, in turn, awaits both sides in a little over 48 hours’ time…
