West Ham were reportedly offered chance to sign ex-Chelsea striker Diego Costa on deadline day

Costa offered to ‘top-six’ club
Diego Costa is currently a free agent after, agreeing to terminate his Atletico Madrid contract at the back end of 2020:

The hitman had managed two goals in seven La Liga outings this season, before departing the Spanish table-toppers. All told, though, he had majorly struggled for game-time.
And, despite his previous success in two of Europe’s top-five leagues, the former Chelsea man, as of writing, remains without a new club.
On deadline day, meanwhile, Sky Sports News claimed that the Spaniard had been offered to an unnamed Premier League top-six side:

And the identity of the club in question has now been revealed.
According to Goal, citing beIN Sports, West Ham United were handed the chance to sign Costa on deadline day.
The Hammers, of course, are not traditionally viewed as one of the Premier League’s ‘big six’. However, they have enjoyed a fine season to date, and currently sit 5th in the English top-flight.

Goal add that, though the transfer window has now slammed shut, Costa is still permitted to find a new club, due to his free agent status.
However, one potential issue in any deal, as revealed when the striker was linked with Wolves recently, are his rumoured wage demands.
