West Ham are eying up a move for Chelsea striker Armando Broja, according to reports.
Broja is one of many young talents to make their way through Chelsea’s youth ranks over the last decade or so.
The striker, now 20, is currently on loan at Southampton for the remainder of the 2021/22 campaign.
Now though, Football Insider are reporting that West Ham are lining up talks with Chelsea over the possible transfer of Armando Broja as they look to beat Southampton to a late-window deal.
What Tuchel has said about Broja
As already mentioned, Broja is currently on loan at Southampton.
So far, the Albanian international has scored seven and assisted one in 21 ties for the Saints, showing clear promise this term.
But does he have a future at Chelsea? Blues fans are well accustomed to letting top young talents leave their club, with Tammy Abraham, Tino Livramento and Tariq Lamptey just some of the recent names to depart the Bridge and do well elsewhere.
And when asked if Broja will get a chance back at Chelsea next season, Tuchel remained rather coy: “He is our player and he is doing good. But at the same time it is only half a season. “He needs to continue to improve and to make his statement at Southampton.
“We have a reason why they are our players. They have quality, they have mentality and now they are out there on their own in different environments, different clubs and proving themselves. “Armando is getting better and better. He is a very unique player with very unique strengths in his game – his speed and robustness. And he is a goalscorer.
“First of all, now is not the moment to discuss about the summer. Now is the moment for him to stay calm and keep on improving.”
