Shinji Kagawa & Borussia Dortmund
In the past few days, rumours have spread that Shinji Kagawa could be on his way out of Borussia Dortmund.
Kagawa, 29, is enjoying his second spell at the Signal Iduna Park. The Japanese star is under contract with BVB until 2020.
Yet it’s been a trying season for Kagawa. That’s mainly because Kagawa injured his left ankle against Hamburg back in February, and that’s forced a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Yet, with that said, Kagawa has still scored six goals and chipped in with seven assists in 26 matches in all competitions for Dortmund this term.
But could BVB be interested in selling Kagawa this summer?
Those rumours have been echoed by large media outlets, yet the source seems to be a German website called Fussballeck.
Fussballeck claim to have cited the story from ‘English sources’ but we’ve been unable to locate anything reputable to rely on.
West Ham vs Everton
With the rumour mill in high gear, it’s claimed that West Ham and Everton are both interested in Kagawa.
Kagawa is thought to command a 13 million euro price tag.
When it comes to West Ham, the obvious link is David Moyes. Kagawa was at Man United under Moyes, however the Japanese star memorably wasn’t a favourite for the Scot at the time.
Would Kagawa really want to reunite with Moyes at the London Stadium?
Questions also have to be asked about the links to Everton.
While there’s plenty wrong with Everton’s current squad, creative midfield players isn’t one of them.
Why would Everton want to sign Kagawa when they’ve already got Theo Walcott, Wayne Rooney, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Yannick Bolasie?
