West Ham to sign William Carvalho
Two defeats from two Premier League matches has left West Ham rooted to the foot of the table.
Man City loanee Joe Hart has already conceded seven goals since joining the Hammers following his tough stint at Torino last term.
Will West Ham be fighting to beat the drop all season?
Their fans will certainly hope not, especially after the club have brought in several players in the summer.
Pablo Zabaleta joined on a free, while the Irons have spent sizable cash on Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez.
And the spending may not be over, as West Ham appeared to be on the verge of signing William Carvalho from Sporting CP.
Clubs work on a compromise
In the past few days reports have been doing the rounds West Ham are chasing Sporting CP’s William Carvalho.
A Portuguese international, William Carvalho is a solid centre-mid who would undoubtedly help the Hammers in the Premier League.
According to the Sunday Times, West Ham have seen an initial offer of 30 million euros rejected by Sporting for Carvalho. However, the Portuguese club “have invited West Ham to make a second bid”.

That suggests Sporting are willing to make a deal for the midfielder.
The Sunday Times believe Carvalho could join the clarets if West Ham offer 35 million euros up front plus another seven million euros in add-ons.
Will the Hammers stump up the cash?
