Watford & Javi Gracia
Watford have been famed in recent years for their ruthless approach in dealing with their managers.
However, according to the London Evening Standard on Thursday, Watford are now ready to commit to Javi Gracia.
Javi Gracia joined Watford back in January. He replaced current Everton boss Marco Silva at Vicarage Road.
Gracia originally agreed an 18-month contract with Watford. But the Hornets are ready to offer the Spanish coach a new long term deal. The Standard announce:
Watford head coach Javi Gracia is to sign a new three-year contract at Vicarage Road.
A new contract will end any uncertainty around Gracia’s future and Watford hope the three-year deal will bring them managerial stability.
Watford’s recent managers
Javi Gracia is the 10th manager to work for Watford under the Pozzo family since they took over the club in 2012.
Prior to his arrival, Marco Silva replaced Walter Mazzarri, who in turn replaced Quique Sánchez Flores.
When the Pozzo family arrived at Watford, Sean Dyche was the manager in the dugout.
The other managers during the Pozzo’s reign at Watford have been Gianfranco Zola, Giuseppe Sannino, Oscar Garcia Junyent, Billy McKinlay and Slavisa Jokanovic.
Watford on the slide
It’s worth noting that Watford have hit a rough patch following their strong start to the season.
Watford are winless in their last five matches – a run which has included four defeats.
Last weekend Watford were battered 4-0 at home by Bournemouth.
Watford are ninth in the division with 13 points on the board.
