Having struggled to nail down a starting role at the club, Turan has been linked with moves away for some time.
Arsenal were rumoured to be interested in the player, although no official bid was made.
More recently, reports emerged of a move for Turan back to his home country of Turkey.
Yesterday Marca reported that Galatasaray had signed the 30-year-old on a two-year deal, but those reports seemed to be premature, as only the two clubs had reached an agreement.
While Barcelona may have been open to selling Turan, it appears the player himself has rejected the move, AS report.
This sentiment was confirmed by Galatasaray’s president who insists no more signings will be made in this window (see tweet below in Turkish)
💬 Dursun Özbek: “Bu sezon için yaz transfer dönemini bitirmiş oluyoruz. Oyuncularımıza başarılar diliyorum.”

Although the Spanish transfer window has been close for almost a week week, Turan would still be allowed to move to Turkey, where the window has not shut.
Staying at Barca
The attacking midfielder began his career at Galatasaray, spending 11 years at the club in total. However, he’ll be staying at Barcelona, until January at least.
Turan made just 18 appearances in La Liga last season and is yet to feature for Barcelona at all this season.
One signing that the Turkish club have made on their deadline day is that of Cedric Carrasso. The 35-year-old goalkeeper joins from Bordeaux.
