Tottenham have all but signed Vincent Janssen
For a number of weeks in the transfer market, Spurs have been haggling with AZ Alkmaar over a fee for Dutch striker Vincent Janssen.
Signed for just 500,000 euros last summer, AZ were holding out for the maximum fee they could get for the Holland number 9.
The Dutch side’s negotiating stance was somewhat destroyed by Janssen, who rejected offers from both PSG and West Ham due to his desire to play for Spurs.
The “soap opera” is all but over
On Sunday afternoon, Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, one of the most reliable sources for transfer news in Holland, have confirmed that Vincent Janssen is on his way to London for his Spurs medical.
Janssen’s move to Spurs will be completed in the next 24 hours, after he has undergone the medical.
The former Almere City striker is being accompanied to London by his representatives Patrick van Diemen and Louis Laros of VVCS/Soccervision and the trip were spotted at Amsterdam’s Schilpol Airport.
Spurs will pay 22 million euros for Janssen
Tottenham will pay a fee of 22 million euros for Vincent Janssen, according to De Telegraaf. This translates to just under 19 million pounds.
Janssen now looks set to go to Australia with his new Spurs team mates for matches against Juventus and Atletico Madrid.
The Dutch hitman is expected to challenge Harry Kane for a starting spot in Mauricio Pochettino’s starting line-up.
Next on the agenda for Spurs is their reported move for German international Mario Gotze.
