Crystal Palace & Oliver Burke
For the second day running, Crystal Palace fans are being drawn towards the German press.
That’s as rumours get louder than Crystal Palace could be about to sign RB Leipzig’s Scottish international forward Oliver Burke.
On Thursday Kicker told their readers that Oliver Burke is on his way out of Leipzig and on the verge of a return to England.
He became the most expensive Scottish footballer of all-time when he join the Bundesliga side from Nottingham Forest for £15 million in 2016.
On Friday, the rumours have been stepped up a notch in Bild.
Oliver Burke & RB Leipzig
Bild are confident that Burke is leaving the Bundesliga.
Indeed, readers are told that 20-year-old Burke is “going back to the island”.
Crystal Palace are labelled a “hot candidate” to sign the Scottish forward.
So how much will Franck De Boer need to spend to land Burke? Bild believe the deal can be done for 18 million euros.
Burke joining Crystal Palace makes sense for the Eagles, particularly after rumours have spread that Wilfried Zaha may be out of action for a month through injury.
He’d also offer back-up to Christian Benteke in attack, as Palace rely on the Belgium to lead their line.
Leipzig want to sell
It’s also worth nothing that Leipzig are keen on Burke’s exit, as they have a target who they want to sign.
Bild announce that Leipzig are trying to sign Kevin Kampl, who wants to leave Bayer Leverkusen.
The 26-year-old Slovenian midfielder, who is under contract at Bayer until 2020, is thought to be available for 20 to 25 million euros.
