United vs City: Darijo Srna confirms Fred’s Manchester move

Dynamo Kiev 0 – Shakhtar Donetsk 2

There was a big match in Ukraine on Wednesday night, as Shakhtar Donetsk beat Dynamo Kiev in the cup final.

Shakhtar won the final with two second half goals. Facundo Ferreyra opened before Yaroslav Rakitskiy doubled the advantage.

Will Shakhtar go on to win the double? That’s looking likely as Shakhtar currently have a five point lead over Dynamo Kiev at the top of the league.

Fred: Man United vs Man City

For a few months, Shakhtar Donetsk’s Brazilian midfielder Fred has been tipped with a move to the Premier League.

Two clubs have been fighting for Fred’s signature: Man United and Man City.

With the Fred stories first emerged, it was Man City who were at the front of the queue.

Yet, claims that City may move for Fred in the January transfer window never materialised. Since, Man United are thought to be stepping up efforts to land the 25-year-old.

Fred could help plug the hole set to be left when Michael Carrick retires this summer.

Marouane Fellaini could also be set to exit United on a free transfer in the off-season.
