Trio of European giants set sights on Arsenal outcast Aubameyang

Arsenal outcast Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang may have an avenue of escape from north London after a trio of continental giants are said to be eyeing a possible January deal for the Gabonese international star.

As mentioned on Sky Sports‘ The Transfer Show, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, and AC Milan are all said to have an interest in the 32-year-old goalscorer after the former Arsenal captain has been effectively frozen out of the first-team under Mikel Arteta.

Aubameyang, who recently left AFCON assignment on the back of a diagnosed heart concern in the wake of testing positive for Covid in a pre-tournament camp based in Dubai, was already the subject of an official bid from Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Nassr.

The bid on offer was an initial loan that would include an obligation to purchase the forward for just €8million. That price would constitute a considerable financial loss on a player Arsenal shelled out a cool ~£53million four winters ago during the 2017-18 season.

Arsenal seek cup final appearance

Mikel Arteta and Arsenal clash with Liverpool in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final at the Emirates after the pair fought out a 0-0 draw at Anfield, leaving the Gunners in a strong position to reach another cup final.

In doing so, Arteta will reach the second final of his young tenure in north London as Arsenal boss since his arrival in December of 2019 having helped the club to FA Cup glory that same season at the expense of Chelsea thanks to a Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang brace at Wembley.

At the time of writing, Arsenal is 1-0 down courtesy of a quality run and fortunate finish from Portuguese international Diogo Jota despite the absence of Sadio Mané, Mohamed Salah, and Naby Keïta who are all yet to return from their AFCON assignments.

Arsenal can however count on Ghanaian star midfielder Thomas Partey who was included in the matchday squad after rushing back to London, but features on the bench after the Black Stars were dumped out of AFCON when they failed to emerge from Group C after a shock loss to Comoros.
