Tottenham & West Ham keeping tabs on Cyle Larin

Tottenham & West Ham keeping tabs on Cyle Larin

Recent reports have credited two Premier League sides with an interest in Besiktas striker, Cyle Larin.

Who is Cyle Larin?

Cyle Larin is currently plying his trade in the Turkish top-flight with Besiktas.

Larin joined the Black Eagles in January of 2018, departing Orlando City for a fee believed to be around £1.8m.

In his first half-season at the club, Larin scored just four goals across all competitions.

This, in turn, saw the 26-year-old loaned to Belgian outfit Zulte Waregem for the 2019/20 campaign.

Larin enjoyed a decent loan stint, which saw him notch nine goals and 11 assists across all competitions for Zulte.

The 33-time capped Canadian international has since returned to Turkey, though, and is currently in the midst of his best-ever season in Europe.

All told, across 41 outings thus far, Larin has managed to score 23 and assist four for Besiktas.

Interestingly, whilst his previous two seasons in Europe saw the Canadian play as a striker, Larin has since regularly been shifted outside.

23 of his appearances this season have come from the left flank, with a further five from the right and 13 through the middle.

Tottenham and West Ham eyeing Larin

Now, the versatile forward, who will have just one year to run on his contract come the summer, appears to be attracting interest from the Premier League.

According to 90min, Tottenham and West Ham are among a number of European clubs keeping tabs on Larin.

It is added that Besiktas are working to secure their star man’s long-term future, but the forward is aware of interest from elsewhere.

No potential fee is mentioned in the report. Given the terms of his contract, though, it is hard to imagine that Larin would set any potential suitor back all that much.
