Tottenham Hotspur are looking for big reinforcements in January as they look to get back on track under Antonio Conte.
Spurs must also show the Italian that they share his same ambitions, with the 53-year-old in talks over a new contract.
One player the north London club have set their sights on is Pedro Porro of Sporting CP and they have been informed how much a deal for the Spaniard will cost...
Amorim on Porro: “I was told he can only leave if...”
Sporting CP manager Rúben Amorim has revealed: “I was told he can only leave if the clause is triggered.
“He’s playing really well... we know there’s clubs who can pay it.
“But until that happens, Pedro is safe.”
Porro’s release clause with the Portuguese club is €45 million and he will only be sold this month for that amount.
However, manchester City do have the option to re-sign the 23-year-old for just €18 million.
Spurs could possibly use this in their favour to pay less than his release clause, although for now, Man City have no interest in triggering the clause.
With right-wing back being such a pressing issue for Spurs next month, Porro offers the perfect option for Conte’s team and they must get a deal done.
