Tottenham and Manchester United set to battle for 18 year-old goalkeeper

Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are set to battle it out for highly rated 18 year-old England and Bolton goalkeeper Jake Turner, according to the Sun.

Scouting mission

Tottenham have ramped up their interest in signing Tuner by sending scouts to watch him in action for Bolton’s reserve side.

However, it is Manchester United who currently lead the race to sign the England under-18 keeper, with Mourinho reportedly wanting to coach Turner to become the next United number one.

Everton too hold an interest in signing Turner.

The Sun expect Bolton to accept the highest made offer for their youth keeper.

Highly-rated

The Red Devils have been recommended to sign the Cheshire-born keeper by coaching staff at the FA, who see Turner as having a very bright future.

Tuner has so far won two international caps for England, both coming for the under-18’s.

He was last season promoted to the first team but is yet to have made an appearance, although the Sun believe that he will be snapped up by a Premier League club before he gets an opportunity to appear at Macron Stadium.

Fascinatingly, Jake Turner started his career off as a striker but was converted to a keeper, which comes at no surprise considering his stature of 6-foot.
