Tottenham dealt blow as £15 million bid for chief January target rebuffed
Tottenham Hotspur have seen an opening bid for Wolverhampton Wanderers star Adama Traore knocked back, according to reports.
The name of wide-man Traore has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines across the January transfer window to date.
This comes after Antonio Conte and co. set their sights firmly on a deal for the Spaniard, on the back of the questionable start to life in north London being endured by summer addition Emerson Royal.
In turn, it should not come as a huge surprise to hear that the Lilywhites, on Thursday, have tabled an opening bid for the club’s primary winter target.
Unfortunately for those in a position of power at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, however, it has been rebuffed.
As per a report from the reliable John Percy of The Telegraph, a proposal worth a sum of £15 million was not even taken into consideration by the board at Molineux, with Wolves having made clear that Spurs remain ‘some way short’ of their valuation for Traore.

Bergwijn the hero
News of the latest efforts of the transfer team at Tottenham coming up short of course comes fresh on the back of one of the most memorable nights in the recent history of the club just 24 hours ago.
A Premier League trip to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester City saw the capital giants trailing by two goals to one deep into time added on.
Amid remarkable scenes, though, Spurs went on to level things up courtesy of Steven Bergwijn with 95 minutes on the clock, before the Dutchman secured hero status for himself with a winner a minute later:
