Tottenham chief Paratici speaks out over Dusan Vlahovic chase

Tottenham chief Paratici speaks out over Dusan Vlahovic chase

Tottenham Hotspur director Fabio Paratici has this evening spoken out, amid the club’s continued links to Fiorentina star Dusan Vlahovic.

Viola sensation

Regular viewers of Italian football have of course long been well accustomed to the talents of Serbian starlet Vlahovic.

After first showcasing his talents en route to 6 Serie A goals across the 2019/20 campaign, the 21-year-old exploded onto the scene last time out, finding the net 21 times whilst lining out for a frankly average Fiorentina side.

The 11-time capped international possesses a whole host of stellar attributes, including aerial prowess and a remarkable knack for finishing half chances.

Such traits, meanwhile, were on full display during the summer, when Vlahovic’s goalscoring exploits finally began to pique widespread attentions across the continent.

Remarkably, during a pre-season friendly meeting with minnows Polisportiva, the Serb went on to bag no fewer than 7 (SEVEN) goals, despite having only been introduced off the bench at half-time.

‘For now…’

And such stellar exploits have since carried forth into the early months of the new campaign, too, with Vlahovic having racked up six goals across eight appearances between Serie A and the Coppa Italia.

In turn, it should come as little surprise to hear that a whole host of clubs from across the continent have begun sniffing around the striker’s signature.

The summer window, for example, saw the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Juventus all tipped as potential landing spots.

The outfit most persistently linked with an actual big-money swoop for Vlahovic, however, were without question Tottenham Hotspur.

Amid Harry Kane’s ongoing exit links, the hierarchy on the Lilywhite half of North London were understood to have identified Fiorentina’s main man as the ideal replacement.

In the end, a move evidently failed to come to fruition, but, as outlined above, this weekend, Spurs have provided an insight into their stance on Vlahovic’s signing.

Speaking in an interview with Festival dello Sport, director of football Fabio Paratici first appeared keen to play down links to the hitman, in suggesting that he is not currently in the sights of the capital giants.

From here, however, the Tottenham chief dropped a none-too-subtle hint regarding a potential future swoop…

‘Dusan Vlahovic is appreciated by many clubs, it’s normal. He’s not in our plans… for now.’
