Torino boss confirms Arsenal have made a €65m offer for striker Andrea Belotti

Arsenal on the striker trail

Anyone who’s watched Arsenal Fan TV will be aware that the fans want a new striker.

While Olivier Giroud has been banging the goals and scorpion kicks in of late, the Frenchman just can’t win Gooners over.

Alexis Sanchez was deployed as a central striker earlier in the season, but Wenger has now restored the Chilean to his more natural wide position.

That means that for all intents and purposes, Giroud is the only conventional striker at Wenger’s disposal, and Arsenal fans want him to get his wallet out and bring an alternative forward in this month.

The likes of Karim Benzema have been linked with a move to the Emirates in recent years, but now it seems Wenger has turned his attention to a Serie A young gun.

65m euro offer for Belotti

Namely, Torino striker Andrea Belotti.

Torino manager Gianluca Petrachi confirmed to Sky Italia after today’s game that the Gunners are not only interested, but that they’ve lodged a 65m euro offer for the 23-year-old.

However, Petrachi insisted that ‘the offer does not reflect the value of Belotti,’ so the Italians are holding out for a better offer.

Belotti has 25 league goals in 51 appearances for Torino, and 3 in 5 for Italy: very solid numbers for young striker, who’s only going to get better with age.
