The fee Arsenal are expected to net from two players next summer/Arteta interested in January midfielder swoop

Two updates concerning potential transfer business at Arsenal have emerged on Monday.

Arsenal set for financial windfall

The first concerns potential outgoings at the Emirates, that would see the club net a nice little sum of money next summer.

Both Matteo Guendouzi and Dinos Mavropanos are currently out on loan from Arsenal. However, whilst Guendouzi in particular has impressed during his spell with Marseille, including versus PSG on Sunday, both are expected to be moved on.

As per football.london, Mavropanos and Guendouzi are both set to leave Arsenal on permanent deals next summer.

The former of that duo is currently on loan at Stuttgart, with FL reporting that the German outfit paid a €500,000 loan fee for the defender, and have an obligation of €3m to purchase him outright ahead of next season.

That option will not be valid if Stuttgart are relegated. But the sleeping Bundesliga giants have gone unbeaten in their last four league outings, and look unlikely to be dragged into a relegation scrap this term. Stuttgart also boast an option to buy if they don’t reach their team objectives this season, meaning Mavropanos departing Arsenal is all but certain.

Elsewhere, Guendouzi’s €11m option will be triggered by Marseille should they avoid relegation this season, which is again a very likely scenario, given the fact that they are currently fighting for a top-four place.

So, a guaranteed €14m windfall looks set to be forthcoming at the Emirates in the summer of 2022.

Arteta eyeing midfielder

In other Arsenal news, Spanish outlet Fichajes are reporting that Mikel Arteta is interested in signing Real Betis midfielder William Carvalho in January.

One of the reasons provided for such interest is the situation of Thomas Partey.

Partey has been fairly injury-prone since his move to Arsenal, and is also due to take part in the African Cup of Nations in January.

So, it would make sense for Arsenal to be eyeing up some fresh midfield reinforcements in the winter, especially with Granit Xhaka currently sidelined.
